Hello San Diego community!

Join us this year for a wonderful secular holiday event! We will be celebrating the Day of the Dead, a great festival in which we honor our deceased loved ones. As secularists, atheists, and humanists, there are few holidays that are religion free. Día de los Muertos, is a day that we as non-theists can take time to honor the deceased without the notion of a religious afterlife: instead, we celebrate life before death. We remind ourselves that instead of dwelling in the sadness of death, we can be grateful for what they left behind for us to pass on. Join us for food, drinks, a kids piñata, face painting, and raffles!
$4/person or $10/family.

Some of the traditions that we will be celebrating include:
- Skeleton face painting for kids and adults! (Traditionally, you paint half of your face as a skeleton.)

-Wearing jewelry from the departed loved one. For example, each year I wear my grandmother's rings and necklace.
-Feel free to participate by bringing in a frames photo of a deceased loved one. We will have a decorated table at the event honoring loved ones.
