Why Are Believers Willfully Ignorant About Atheists?

From: Wilfredo P.

When believers talk about atheists, they often don't bother to talk to any first. What are they afraid of?

Excellent article by Great Christina!  To answer her question above, I say that religious people often don't want to talk to atheists because we pose a threat to their beliefs and they don't want to ponder the possibility that the beliefs they have learned and practiced over many years and often many decades could be a bunch of baloney.  In short, they don't want to THINK and are afraid of those who do.  As Ms. Christina states in the article, "...it's hard to avoid the conclusion that, if believers actually found out how atheists think and feel, it would present a serious challenge to their beliefs."

We Freethinkers are like the boy who told the emperor he has no clothes.  Religious people are not into rational inquiry and critical thought and they often despise those who are.

I'm posting this to the HFSD discussion page in case anyone wants to comment on it.  Thanks.
