Take a Walk in the Park(s) for Health & Humanism! SE: Lents Park Redux

HGP-Meetup returns to SE Portland this week for Take a Walk in the Park(s): Lents Park has a wood-chip trail that winds among the trees in this urban sports park. We'll walk for about 50 minutes, then at 10-ish we'll head for a nearby caffeine purveyor.

We'll meet at the northeast parking lot near the corner of 92nd Avenue and Holgate Blvd. That corner is on bus routes and closest to the Max station, and a just a few blocks from I-205. Look for your host with a red Meetup sign.

We're moving out-of-doors with the warmer weather! Join HGP-Meetup's weekly Saturday morning health walk, now at a park near you! Nothing too strenuous (we still want to be able to walk-and-talk) though we'll test our limits as we shape up.

Do you have a Darwin/Dawkins/Humanism T-shirt? Remember to wear it so we can spread a little science and reason as we share the trails -- and don't forget a water bottle, hat and cell phone.

Plan to meet a few minutes early so we can pair up and be ready to start the walk together at 9:00 -- look for the red Meetup sign. We'll meet in the parking lot nearest the trailhead and return there to carpool to a nearby coffee shop for something caffeinated and to continue the conversation.

Let's get out from under those fluorescent mall lights! The ladies issue this challenge to the guys: start your day off right with a brisk walk under a natural canopy. Teens, and older children with adult supervision are welcome.

Are you a Rabbit, Turtle, or Mollusk (those who must travel at a snail's pace)? We probably have someone in the group who can walk at your speed; if you are a Super-Humanist you may need to bring your own walking partner, depending on the steepness of the trail.

Steady rain cancels, but a light sprinkle is a go! To get the Event Host's cell number in case you can't find us, email them from their member page before the activity by clicking on their name.

All Meetup fees are paid by the Humanists of Greater Portland through your memberships; donations towards the work of HGP are greatly appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you -- bring a friend!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
