I'd love to talk to others about their opinions on a book and get a fresh perspective on it. Aside from that, I've never been in a book club, so this is pretty exciting.
Fiction. I don't know if there's any particular genre, pretty much anything with a good story that reels me in. Some of my recent favorites are "Fevre Dream" and the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series by George R. R. Martin, "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff" by Christopher Moore, and "The Sense of an Ending" by Julian Barnes. I'm re-reading Terry Pratchet and Neil Gaiman's "Good Omens" right now, which feels like going home and revisiting old friends.
Hm. I just bought a Sirius Black wand at the Harry Potter exhibition and am absurdly proud of myself for buying it, even though I felt enormously stupid paying $70 for a plastic stick. The "Warner Brothers TM" sign is a damper, but I'll conveniently ignore it. I don't really know what that says about me.
Hi there :) I'm Malvika, an aspiring neuroscientist and a hopeless book addict.
