Do another one of these! Sounds like a cool experience. I'm dying to meet some fellow nerds who wanna work on random projects :)

Very good starter meetup. I like to think that using cards and checkers and such, though not programming, is good skill building, thinking out of the box. I've found that an iterative approach to building anything, especially games is a good approach. Create a very simple game with some basic rules and then build off of that one to create something even more complex. My Actionscript bible this year has been "Flash Games: Building Interactive Entertainment with Actionscript 3.0" The book starts you out with a game where you pretty much just click the mouse to pop ballooons, lol, to the end with a full state-based framework, and a retro-style on-line viral game that you can make money off of.

This was a great way to get this group started. From the conversation at the end of the meeting, I expect this group will become much more programming oriented, but we shouldn't ignore game building exercises like these.

It seems Google maps has it wrong. It's on the corner of Holmes and Green. Sorry for the confusion!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
