CT Hiking Series: Sherwood Island Beach

Sick of being cooped up during the winter months? Let's go to the beach! Come join us for this scenic hike at Sherwood Island State Park. The winter adds a special beauty to Connecticut's shoreline. Beginners welcomed.

When: 2 p.m. on Friday, March 6th
Where: Meet at the East Beach Parking Lot at Sherwood Island State Park. We will meet in the southwest corner of the parking lot (highlighted on the map). Look for Joy and Matt in the light blue Rio with CT plates and a small HVH sticker.

What: The hike will be 3.3 miles long and will consist of a hike along the beach and then looping up to see the rest of the park. We will walk at a moderate pace. Route is marked on the map below in yellow.

Please come prepared for this hike. Essentials to bring include: hiking boots, winter layers, water, food and snacks. Prepare for it to be windy and bring layers to cover your face and head.
