iPhone Apps: Designing for Success

Details
''Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what it looks like. That's not what we think design is. It's not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.'' -- Steve Jobs.
Join us for an iPhone networking event organized by The iPhone Network Lounge and discover the impact of how exceptional design can make your iPhone application stand out from the others. Guest speaker, Marine Leroux, of Bamboudesign, will show you what a good design really is, and how an aesthetically pleasing iPhone application design can speed up development, make your users come back for more, differentiate your app from the other apps, and earn you more money.
Attend the event and enter a raffle to win a free iPod Touch!

Program
Historically, design gets assigned the last seat in the development cycle. Coding a mobile application is often the first step before an interface is quickly designed to accommodate the structure that was built. That means customers see and work with a design that responds to a system, not necessarily their needs.
Design aesthetics and development go hand in hand. Beyond aesthetics, "how design works" really means, ease of use. Marine Leroux will describe why it is essential to design first, code last. She'll cover key principles of design, and present a winning step-by-step approach to designing an iPhone app, while showcasing the design of an iPhone cocktails application.
