This group is for fans of Long Form Improv, in the style of Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade, The People's Improv Theater, The Magnet Theater, and more. Don't know what "Long Form" is? Come to a show and find out!
Members will attend comedy shows all over the city, mostly free or cheap (less than $10) and NONE of that two drink minimum nonsense. Of course, if you like to drink, you'll be able to when we socialize at a bar after the shows.
Living in New York City takes a lot of effort. So make the most of it! The rest of the world sees the same TV and Internet, but only in New York do you have the chance to see so much great improvised comedy performed live.
Join this group if you (1) enjoy live comedy (2) don't like being forced to buy a $10 Bud Light (3) want to meet other attractive, interesting New Yorkers who feel the same about (1) and (2).
(Want to recommend a show for the calendar? Click the "Have an idea for a meetup?" links and tell me about it.)
A night of long form improv comedy featuring Goatbutter, Swoon, and Fat Penguin. Hosted by comedian Melanie Hamlett.
Afterward we'll head down the street to Grassroots Tavern for socializing over cheap drinks.
