New Event: Sleuth at Landmark Theater

From: Joe
Sent on: Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 11:07 PM
Announcing a new event for Indy Film Buffs Meetup Group!

What: Sleuth at Landmark Theater

When: Saturday, December 8, 6:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Event Description: Join us for "Sleuth" at Landmark Theater on Saturday night. The movie will be playing for one week only starting December 7. Landmark won't post times until next week, but we'll go to the showing closest to 7pm. I will update this description, and e-mail the group, once we have the specific time.

"Sleuth" stars Michael Caine and Jude Law and is directed by Kenneth Branagh. It was written by 2005 Nobel Prize winner Harold Pinter. "Sleuth" is rated R and is 86 minutes in length.

What it's about:
A millionaire detective novelist matches wits with the unemployed actor who ran off with his wife in a deadly serious, seriously twisted game with dangerous consequences.

Getting there:
For those who've never been to this theater, it is in the back of the mall at Keystone At The Crossing. Take 86th Street to Keystone Crossing (the street in front of PF Changs) and follow it underneath the walkway. Take your first left, and then another left for parking. There is a mall entrance right there; simply go up the escalator, and Landmark Theater will be on your left. Feel free to call Joe at[masked] if you get lost!

Before the movie:
Come as early as 6pm to the Indie Lounge, which is right across the hallway from Landmark Theater. Look for the "Meetup" sign and/or Joe, who will be wearing his trusty "Indy Film Buffs" shirt. Enjoy some movie chat and choose from a wide selection of beverages, alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

At the movie:
A cool thing about Landmark is you can bring your drink in from the Indie Lounge. Landmark also has some of the best movie popcorn in the city, and this is coming from a guy who has a lot of movie popcorn.

After the movie:
For those interested, we'll head out after the movie to a nearby restaurant for food and conversation. Restaurants close to the theater include PF Changs, TGI Fridays, Pizzeria Uno, and Chili's.

Finally:
"Sleuth" is a remake of a 1972 movie of the same name, and interestingly enough is the second movie to feature Jude Law playing a character originally played by Michael Caine. If you don't know the first one, come to this Meetup to find out!
