Indy Elixir Monthly Meetup
Details
Join us for the next Indy Elixir in-person meetup! We'll be downtown again at 407 Fulton Street, right off 65 and 70. Parking update: please park in front of the building or in Visitor spots in the gated lot north of it. The lot on Michigan Ave is no longer available.
We'll have pizza and drinks thanks once more to sponsor Expected Behavior (http://www.expectedbehavior.com/). And thanks again to sponsor Manning Publications (https://twitter.com/ManningBooks), we'll be giving a copy each of Saša Jurić's Elixir In Action (https://www.manning.com/books/elixir-in-action) and Benjamin Tan Wei Hao's The Little Elixir & OTP Guidebook (https://www.manning.com/books/the-little-elixir-and-otp-guidebook) to two randomly-chosen winners!
Talks
Steve Grossi will be presenting a collaboration with Joel Meador on Elixir's upcoming GenStage (http://elixir-lang.org/blog/2016/07/14/announcing-genstage/), a new behavior that allows for even more powerful and reliable data processing pipelines, which we'll use to process and aggregate log data.
John Daily will give his talk, Erlang, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let Things Fail (abstract (https://gist.github.com/macintux/29dd9681c3a77ffe0dd2)), on the Erlang worldview that forms the basis of so much of Elixir and the wider BEAM and OTP ecosystem.
Hope to see you there!
