I'm 37, a lifelong programmer, and have been building forecasting tools for timeseries data since 2002. I learned about neural networks in a Wolfram class and have used them on financial data along with regression and gradient decent. I also took the Stanford online "Intro to AI" and "Machine Learning" classes in the fall of 2011. I run an investment firm called Apt Capital and a small venture fund called Beta Fund. I'm particularly interested in learning additional techniques for dealing with timeseries data that is very noisy, sparse, continuous, high-dimensionality, and partially observable. I am also interested in natural language processing, and inferring sentiment from text. This is a newer area for me.
Hi New England AI community. Let's build intelligence into everything and make the whole world work better.
What an incredible group of people! It's fun and easy to learn fast from a group that has so much experience and expertise in so many corners of AI, and from industry and academia.
