The point of this meetup group is to find like-minded friends/business partners/boyfriends/girlfriends of a similar age, and to promote interesting and informative discussion. I find it most satisfying to talk to people who are abnormally intellectual and rational - hence the existence of this group.
You will have to tell me about yourself before you can join this group (I need to filter membership somehow). Email me about yourself, why you want to join, and what you think you might add to the group or you will not be accepted. If you are not accepted, please don't take it personally, it does not mean that I think you are irrational or uninteresting. It simply means that I don't think you are a good fit for the group, or that I didn't feel you put enough effort into your explanation of why you want to join in order for me to know that you are a good fit.
Qualifications:
*Your age must be in the range of 20 to 30
*You have to be a rational thinker (which implies a focus on being rational in your own life)
*You have to be an atheist or skeptical agnostic
*You have to be intellectually curious (which means that you have a passion for learning and new ideas)
*You have to be versed in skepticism and the scientific method
*You have to be willing to meet and talk to strangers
*You have to be pragmatically oriented (no Hegel-like philosophers please, who I've found have a tendency to play endless semantic games, and spend their time debating questions that have no bearing on reality)
If you meet these specifications, I hope that you will take a few minutes to apply to join our group!
