What is IPFS?
IPFS is a distributed file system that seeks to connect all computing devices with the same system of files. In some ways, this is similar to the original aims of the Web, but brings in the latest ideas from P2P and cryptography to form a distributed, permanent web.
Agenda
We kindly ask everyone to be there at 7:00pm so that we can start the meetup timely. The agenda will look like:
- IPFS and the motivation on why we must distribute the Web
- Demos
- Food and Drinks for casual conversation
This meetup is for everyone interested in:
- IPFS and its development
- P2P Protocols
- Distributed File Systems
- New Web Technologies
- Internet Infrastructure
- Security & PrivacyCryptography
There is no previous knowledge required to part of the meetup. However, if you’d like to understand more about IPFS, see the Alpha demo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CMxDNuuAiQ) and the Whitepaper (https://github.com/ipfs/papers/raw/master/ipfs-cap2pfs/ipfs-p2p-file-system.pdf) for more details. The hands-on introduction is also a good resource and covers all the basics.
Food and Drinks sponsored by Protocol Labs
