Irish Dance - San Francisco Bay Area

It's the first Thursday of the month. What does that mean? Fast and furious Irish set dancing in San Francisco, of course! Dancing starts earlier (8pm) and goes longer – three solid hours of music, dancing, and fun.

We have a different band performing live traditional Irish music for us each week. Check back here later to find out who this week's performers are!

Typical attendance is 15-25 dancers. (Note that the RSVP count on Meetup doesn't reflect the actual number attending – these events are advertised in numerous places.)

COVID-19 Policy: Boosted vaccination is MANDATORY. Additionally, if you are displaying any symptoms of illness or if you feel under the weather, we kindly ask that you please remain at home and come back another time - there will be dancing again on the following Thursday!

Cost: $10. If you are able to contribute more, it all goes to the musicians and is greatly appreciated.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go partner dancing in Ireland? Are you just starting out in Irish set dance or looking to improve your skills? Then come join us for fun and friendly dance lessons!

Lessons are held on every Wednesday and are typically attended by 10-20 other dancers. (We advertise this event at multiple locations, so many attendees are coming from outside of Meetup.)

No prior dance experience of any kind is necessary.

You don't need to bring a partner -- there will always be one available -- but feel free to take one (or more!) along. You can wear any clothes and shoes that you're comfortable dancing and sweating in, although flat shoes are recommended over heels. Removable layers are suggested, as the dancing can be quite a workout!
