Remembering Aaron & Internet Freedom Day / Anniversary of SOPA/PIPA blackout

Details

In a recent Wired article The Internet Deserves Its Own Holiday (http://www.wired.com/opinion/2013/01/the-internet-deserves-its-own-holiday/), writer Marvin Ammori suggested that January 18, the anniversary of the SOPA/PIPA blackout, be celebrated as Internet Freedom Day. The suggestion was well received and many event will take place this Friday, including this one in NYC. The unfortunate death of Aaron Swartz has both highlighted the issue and made the the day an opportunity for a wake. ISOC-NY will join other NYC groups on Friday to participate.
