Web mapping with geomap, a jQuery plugin

In this talk, Ryan Westphal will show you how one line of code, $("#map").geomap();, adds a fully interactive map of the world to your website. He will then dive in to the geomap widget's options and methods that you can use to accomplish a wide variety of web mapping tasks in an open-source/open-data way. This talk is geared toward both coders who know a little mapping and GIS users who know a little coding.

Pizza & beer (thanks to Media Temple) should arrive at 6:30pm, and the talk will start promptly at 7pm!

Learned some new things about mapping that I wouldn't have know, and about yahoo dropping yet another service!

I wasn't clear what geomap was in the lead up to the event, which is the only thing keeping it from being 5 stars.

Ryan did a great job of showcasing how his new $.geo jQuery geomapping plugin works. It basically does for geomapping APIs what jQuery does for the DOM, which is awesome.

Really wish I could make this event, especially with Ryan speaking, but unfortunately I'm headed to Philly for a conference that day. I'll spread the word through Refresh Boston though!
