jQuery Basics

A basic introduction to the powerful jQuery library for the newbies and beginners in the group. Bring a laptop if you'd like to follow along with some of the examples covered in the class.

Your presenters will be:

Mario Noble covering basic animations. Mario has been a web designer for about eight years with three years of experience freelance and about six company based. Pretty excited about hybrid mobile development and creating things that are relevant to people's lives. Currently, works as a front end developer for Astek Inc.

Natalie MacLees covering selectors. Natalie is a front-end web developer and UI designer. She spends her days on the product team at Geni.com (http://geni.com), a start-up that is crowdsourcing the creation of a single family tree of the world. She heads up the SoCal WordPress Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/The-Southern-California-WordPress-Meetup-Group/) along with the jQuery LA Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/jQuery-LA/). She is currently writing jQuery for Designers (http://www.packtpub.com/jquery-for-designers-and-non-programmers-beginners-guide/book) for Packt Publishing.

Location note: Yahoo has alerted me that sometimes people confuse the Yahoo Center at 2400 Broadway with the Water Gardens at 2400 Colorado. Please be sure you're on Broadway and looking for Yahoo. ;-)

Parking info: Street parking after 6pm, mostly on the Broadway side of the building. Pay parking available underground.
