Talk 1: Introducing Babili -- an ES6+ aware minifier based on the Babel toolchain with Amjad Masad

The JavaScript language and community move really fast on new language features and tooling -- yet until recently, we didn't have a minifier that can handle newer JavaScript features. Something that can evolve and adapt with time. This and many other reasons I'll go into in the talk pushed us to build Babili, a modern minifier based on the Babel toolchain.

Bio: Amjad Masad is the founder and CEO at Repl.it. Previously he was a tech lead on the JavaScript infrastructure team where he worked on React Native and Babel.

Talk 2: Webpack + Bugsnag with Christian Schlensker

The breakneck pace of javascript innovation has created a lot of tool churn. Even if you have heard of the benefits of Webpack sometimes the task of migrating a large codebase to this new paradigm can seem daunting. This is a summary of how we at Bugsnag took a Gulp based build pipeline and migrated it gradually over time.

Bio: Christian is a Senior Frontend Engineer at Bugsnag and an occasional pixel artist.

Talk 3: Gatsby + GraphQL — a WIP report on Gatsby's next gen data/asset pipeline

The next version of Gatsby, a Universal JS static site generator, will include a new data/asset pipeline powered by GraphQL. Kyle will talk about why the choice was made to go this direction and what possibilities this new architecture opens up.

Bio: Kyle Mathews is a tech entrepreneur who loves working on cutting edge technologies and products. He's working full-time on open source projects particularly Gatsby and Typography.js.
