How well can you speak, read, write or understand Japanese?

I'm not really sure how to gauge this compared to others, but I would have to say poorly. I can only recognize about three characters and say a few basic words. I was taught when I was younger, but I never kept up with it do to only one of my friends actually being able to speak it and she was more interested in English.

What about Japan or Japanese culture interests you?

Everything interests me. Their fashion both traditional and street fashion. Their traditional and inventive cuisine. Anime, manga, music (traditional and new age, pop, rock, etc.) and pretty much anything you can think of besides sumo wrestling.

Have you ever been to Japan? Where? If not, is there an area that you'd like to visit?

No, I have not. I would really like to just take a trip to Japan sometime in the next few years and visit all the different areas, both city and country. I've always wanted to go seeing as my cousin was born there, but all I manged was to have an exchange student live with us for half a year and get home videos of my cousin doing random things around Japan. If I had to end up only picking one place to go, it would have to be Tokyo for BBSB and AP shopping as well as to ride the shinkansen and try out some of the more famous restaurants.

*curtsies* My pseudonym is Precious, though you may call me Marie if you like. I am into Lolita fashion and lifestyle as well as Japanese culture. I have trouble remembering symbols, though I'd like to learn and can pronounce words rather well.
