Cherry Blossom Festival 2013

Hi all,

It proved a little difficult to obtain an agenda for the festival as the Gemeente Amstelveen and Amsterdamse Bos are behind (they told me) on circulating the information.

This is what the Amsterdamse Bos were able to confirm today:

Prior to 3.30pm People gather outside the Gemeente Amstelveen

3.30pm Group starts to walk to the Cherry Blossom Park

3.45pm Group arrives at the Cherry Blossom Park

3.55pm A moment of silence near the Monument

4pm - 6.30pm Programme arranged by the Gemeente Amstelveen (The Gemeente were not able to confirm what this involves on the phone today).

So it seems the festival is more ceremonial than karoaoke under the blossoms.

If you have RSVP'd and this programme is not of interest, please update your RSVP. I will phone the Gemeente and A'Bos again on Monday and see if they have information on the programme starting 4pm.

I'm not sure if I am going to attend (I was expecting karaoke etc) but will update my RSVP early next week if this is the case.

If anyone has any information on the programme, let us know!
