About Your Instructors
Jason P. Odell, Ph.D.
Dr. Jason P. Odell is a professional photographer from Colorado, USA. Jason's passion for photography started at a young age when his parents built a darkroom in their garage. Jason's interest in the outdoors and nature led him down the path of science, and he earned a doctorate in biology from the University of California Riverside.
Jason is probably best-known for his comprehensive imaging software guides, which he started publishing in 2006 at Luminescence of Nature Press. Jason's guides have taught thousands of photographers how to tackle software like Nikon's Capture NX2 and Nik Software's HDR Efex Pro 2. Jason's ability to present technical material clearly, without losing focus of the creative process, is why his books and workshops are extremely popular with hobbyists and enthusiasts world-wide. Jason's work has been featured by Studio Photographer Magazine, Nik Software, and Tiffen, Inc.
Deborah Sandidge is a professional photographer specializing in travel and freelance work. Deborah enjoys sharing her insight and creative ideas through workshops, seminars and writing. She is highly respected for her ability to simplify challenging technical issues for her students and workshop/seminar attendees. She is the author of Digital Infrared Photography, published by Wiley. Deborah teaches online courses including Long Exposure Creativity, Infrared Photography, and Artistic Imagery.
Deborah has been a guest instructor for NIK software, Topaz labs, Naturescapes, and collaborated with the Nikon Learn and Explore site demonstrating star and star trail photography, along with long exposure photography. Deborah’s images have been used by Nikon in brochures, product guides, and for three years, the Nikon World calendar. Her photography is represented by Danita Delimont, Alamy, Novastock, Positive Images, and Aurora.
