Explore the beauty of California's Sonoma coast on this photo safari led by professional photographer Jason Odell. We will photograph the coastline, beaches, wildlife, and redwood forests and have hands-on instruction daily for photography and post-processing. Here's your chance to experience the beauty of the California coastline while learning creative photography techniques with a professional photographer.
Recommended Experience Level
This safari is best for intermediate to advanced photographers looking to create fine-art photographs and learn new techniques. You should have a working knowledge of your camera equipment and the fundamentals of exposure, but by no means do you need to be an expert.

Tentative Itinerary
• Sunday, May 15th: Meet at 4pm for orientation, followed by an evening photo shoot at nearby Portuguese Beach
• Monday, May 16th: Bodega Head and Bodega Harbor/ Sunset shooting at Shell Beach
• Tuesday, May 17th: Photograph the famous church and schoolhouse in Bodega, followed by a visit to Armstrong Redwoods State Preserve to photograph redwood forest/ Evening shooting at Goat Rock Beach
• Wednesday, May 18th: We check out of our hotel in Bodega Bay and drive up the coast to Fort Ross, where we will photograph the historic Russian Fort and sunset on the coast at Fort Ross State Historic Park.
• Thursday, May 19th: Photograph the rhododendrons and redwoods at Kruse Rhododendron preserve, followed by evening shooting at Salt Point State Park. We will return to our hotel for a homemade group dinner.
• Friday, May 20th: Depart for home (no scheduled shooting events)
What's Included
The Registration Fee for this safari is $1599 per photographer and includes:
• Field Instruction, Photo Critique, and Post-Processing Instruction from Jason
• Single-occupancy lodging in Bodega Bay and Fort Ross
• Breakfast and dinner at our hotel in Fort Ross
Transportation to the field sites, meals, and state park fees are not included in the workshop registration fee.
A non-refundable deposit of $399 will reserve your space on this safari until March 15th, 2106. Full payment is due by March 30th, 2016.
The registration fee balance is non-refundable after April 15th, 2016. I do not have a "non-photographer" participant option.
