Creative Outdoor Photography Workshop

Take your outdoor photography to the next level buy adding creative digital artistry techniques. In this workshop, we'll explore everything from traditional landscape photography to HDR and texture blending. We'll photograph in Garden of the Gods, where the yuccas should be in full bloom. We'll also take photo trips to Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Canyon, and the Western Museum of Mining & Industry. At each location, we'll capture images that can be transformed into digital works of art. Software training to include Nik Software's HDR Efex Pro, Silver Efex Pro 2, and Color Efex Pro 4. We'll also learn how to apply texture blends to our images to make them truly unique.

Instructional Fee: $749.99 per photographer

The instructional fee for this workshop includes all field and classroom instruction, and a personal image critique. Meals, lodging, and transportation to and from the field sites is not included. Payment is required for RSVP; see below for the refund policy.

This workshop will require modest walking (1/2 mile or less) over relatively level terrain. However, Colorado Springs is located at 6500' elevation, so participants will need to be in good health.

Day 1: Meet at hotel at 4pm for orientation session, followed by group dinner.

Day 2: Sunrise shoot at Kissing Camels, followed by additional shooting inside Garden of the Gods park Mid-day post-processing class topic: Fundamentals of landscape processing. Afternoon shooting in Garden of the Gods park.

Day 3: Manitou Springs Photo Walk followed by breakfast. Afternoon classroom session: HDR and Panoramas. Evening photo session at the Western Museum of Mining and Industry (HDR & Black & White)

Day 4: Morning shooting in North Cheyenne Canyon to include Helen Hunt Falls, streams and wildflowers. Afternoon session: Image review and personal critique sessions. Evening session: Class image presentation.

Day 5: Sunrise shooting at Garden of the Gods; depart for home.
