We'll start of with the design considerations that microservices impose on us, then we will check how Java can lend a hand in our endeavor, without relying on the 2 giants (JavaEE/Spring).

Spring 2002 - made DI mainstream
Guice 2008 - threw out xml in favour of annotations
CDI 2009 - first one with autoconfiguration, part of the JavaEE standard
