Popcorn.js - an open-source project to add dynamic content to video elements

Newburyport highschool student Nick Cammarata will demonstrate the power of JavaScript when applied to an HTML5 video tag. Nick will present Popcorn.js, a small JavaScript library to add dynamic content to the video element such as sub-titles, geo-location and more. Nick worked on Popcorn.js with The Mozilla Foundation as part of Mozilla's Drumbeat program.

Our August JavaScript Meetup will be held on Thursday, August 5th at Microsoft Research Center located at One Memorial Drive in Cambridge. We are confirmed by Microsoft for the 1st floor conference room. There is also parking available at a cheap evening rate in the building. Parking is also free on the street in front of the building at 6 PM.

After the presentation | demonstration, we will go around the room introducing ourselves and asking the group for advice | opinions on any JavaScript-related issues members are facing.

Microsoft will provide pizza again. What a generous organization!

Please RSVP and bring guests.

The demo they showed for this at the Mozilla Summit was really cool. This will be a fun talk, looking forward to catching up with everyone. It's been too long!
