JavaScript: wonders, warts and weirdness

  • Aug 5, 2010 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

In response to Craig Webster's Suggestion and comments from others, David Harvey and Peter Marks will lead a deep dive into the JavaScript language. We'll look at:

  • Functions as values
  • Objects, constructors and prototypes
  • The this keyword
  • Variable capturing
  • Higher order programming

It'll be an interactive session so bring a laptop.

Good session, for a language with more than its fair share of quirks. Felt it went a little off topic towards the end, as prototype and the object model are a core aspect of the language rather than a wart or weirdness.

Just in case anyone follows the map rather than the address, the Bamboo office is in Islington, not a corner of Parliament Square.
