I'm really really happy to announce that this meetup is also in collaboration with the Austin NoSQL Meetup, the Austin JavasScript Meetup, and the Austin Web Architecture Meetup.

Presenters:

• Lalit Kapoor - Lalit is the CTO at Goodybag, Inc. Goodybag is a local tech startup with a vision to revolutionize commerce. It works alongside local businesses and charities in order to facilitate customer loyalty, personalize customer-business interactions, give back to the community, and more.
• Andy Wilson - Andy is a Field Engineer at VoltDB. Prior to VoltDB, Andy was the architect of Harvard Business Publishing's Higher Education E-commerce site, Co-founder of Visible Measures and has held senior software developer positions for the past 15 years.

• 7:00 - 7:30 - Eat/Socialize
• 7:30 - 8:00 - Lalit will be talking about how Goodybag builds API driven products. He’ll go over the underlying technologies used  (including node) and the architecture to support the platform and infrastructure that Goodybag is laying down.
• 8:00 - 8:45 - On April 17, 2012, VoltDB announced the results of a Node.js benchmark that reached 695,000 transactions per second for a Node/VoltDB test application. In this talk, VoltDB will review key details of the benchmark, and discuss practical implications for Node.js developers, including the kinds of Node apps that can benefit by using VoltDB as a back-end datastore. The talk will include a brief overview of VoltDB’s in-memory architecture; it will discuss the Node.js client library for VoltDB; and it will provide information about how to get started building a Node/Volt POC.

There will be a raffle at the end of the talk for a Kindle Fire (winner must be present to receive the award).
