This month, shaRon will share a current project with you, highlighting design as well as code.

Natalie will continue her jQuery for beginners series. We'll talk about on, bind, live, and delegate and what the heck they mean and when you should use each one.


shaRon sachse

shaRon sachse a front-end web/ animation geek and Adobe certified expert; creates art and expressions for the digital canvas and the web using a suite of Adobe + open source tools. She does front-end web development with technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery creating rich interactive experiences on multiple screens. shaRon also builds apps extending creativity to the new handheld devices. She is the organizer of HTML5LA (a sister meet-up group focusing on open source technologies: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and other web and mobile technologies), the manager of DDLA - the first Adobe Edge Animate user group, organizer of The LA Tech Event, co-manager of MobileCampLa and a speaker at conferences and user group meetings. When she is not animating or bringing a vision to life on the web she can be found pursuing her other passions; an avid bicyclist, foodie, Drupaler and education apps.

Natalie MacLees

In addition to being the founder and organizer of the jQuery LA meetup group, Natalie is a front-end web developer and UI designer and is founder + principal of the interactive agency, Purple Pen Productions. In 2012 she published jQuery for Designers with Packt Publishing. Together with Noel Saw she heads up the Southern California WordPress User’s Group, organizing WordPress meetups, help sessions, and workshops. In 2010, she worked as technical reviewer on WordPress 3 Complete by April Hodge Silver. She makes her online home at

Location and Parking

Metered street parking is available on Hill and Broadway Streets. There is also a paid parking lot at 420 Bernard in Bamboo Plaza with reasonable rates, or another lot on Broadway. For public transit, we are a couple of blocks from the Chinatown Gold Line station, and multiple bus routes go up and down Hill and Broadway. For up-to-date parking information the night of the event, please check or use ParkMe's iPhone or Android app (see links above).
