Jacksonville Board & Card Game Meetup Group Pages

Welcome!! The purpose of this group is to make friends and to play games! Meetups occur roughly 3 times a week: on Mondays at Jacksonville Game Center; on Wednesdays at Cool Stuff Games; on a Saturday or Sunday at either a member's home or one of the game stores.

I will now address a few Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Where are meetups held?
A: Meetups are held at members' homes and at two of Jacksonville's local game stores. Game store meetups have no RSVP limit and are open to the public. Member hosted meetups have RSVP limits and are usually adults-only. I try to stagger the two location types (homes & game stores) so that as many people as possible have a chance to come out and play.

Q: What games will we play?
A: Any and every game that enough people want to play will be played. :D Some popular titles lately are Ticket to Ride, Cards Against Humanity, Power Grid, Survive!, Five Crowns, and The Great Dalmuti. However, if these titles aren't familiar to you *please* do not worry! We'll gladly teach you anything you want to learn, or we'll play whatever game you bring that you've been itching to play.

Q: When are the $5 dues needed and how do I pay?
A: Meetup dues are to help cover the cost of the Meetup Web site. This meetup is purely for everyone's fun, including my own!, but payment for it comes from my own pocket unless I get a little help from you! Dues can be paid in person to me at meetups, or through WePay (like PayPal) on the Game Meetup's Web page.

Q: Can I bring my son/daughter?
A: As referenced above, Game Meetups are generally for adults only, with the exception of the meetups that take place at game stores. This is due to members' expressed preferences and so that folks don't feel the need to sensor themselves for any reason. If you're reading this and thinking, "My kid's still a teenager, but is cool with adults and I don't mind them being around adult language...", then please contact the host of the specific meetup and ask them.

Q: What time do meetups start?
A: Game Meetups on Saturdays often start in the evenings around 6 pm. Sunday events may start earlier -- perhaps around 2 pm. Meetups at the game stores run from 6 pm to close (usually 10 pm). Please note that meetups are *always* come-whenever, leave-whenever events, so if you're late, come on down anyway! It's rare that anyone has difficulty getting into a game after 15-20 minutes.

Feel free to contact me with any further questions or comments about this group. I welcome your insights and feedback.
