DevOps: a Java Enterprise Case Study

Thanks to GigaSpaces for organizing what may well be the first DevOps meetup focused on JVM technology.

DevOps is a wonderfully elusive term describing a combination of toolchain and culture necessary to achieve predictable and agile applications. Here's a chance to find out what leaders in JVM ecosystem are doing about DevOps.

You'll hear a series of 4 lightning talks relaying production stories, strategies, and tradeoffs, including decisions such as native java-vs-rest apis, pull-vs-push provisioning, configuration, and integration, agentless(ssh)-vs-agent OS control. Following the lightning talks we'll have an open discussion and q/a panel based on what your feedback.

Lightning talks:

  • 5 ways to ensure failure of production Java applications; Anthony Shortland of DTO solutions
  • SLA management in an API world; Eran Shir from dapper.net
  • Management Server Resource Design; by Keshav Srinivasen from cloud.com
  • Lessons learned making a devops solution across multiple clouds; Nati Shalom of GigaSpaces
