Announcing a new Meetup for No BS Just Jeeps Virginia Beach!

What: OBX Beach Run

When: August 8,[masked]:00 AM

Outer Banks
Corrolla, NC 27927

We are doing a Beach run to OBX. A great Friend and fellow Jeeper "Pat" will be down from NJ. He is dying to do a beach ride and drive around to see the OBX sights. We plan on spending the morning on the sand and then driving around town after lunch.

Everyone will be meeting at the Border Station on the 168 Bypass. The store literally sit on the border of VA and NC. WE ARE MEETING HERE AT 10:00am

Please ensure that you bring enough food and water for the trip and day on the beach

There are no stores on the beach area

Please be sure to obey the speed limit posted as you first come onto the beach.
I believe that it is 25-35mph normal but 15mph near pedestrians. "Check the Signs as they may have changed"

A few years back a couple of kids were killed by a driver who went over the dunes and did not see them until he had already killed them.
There are people who live and work there year round, so please be courtious when driving behind the dunes. Try not to rutt out the already deep holes that fill with mudd and water. If you have to drive through a deep puddle, remember to go through slowly and stay near the side as it will be shallower there. If you hydolock your engine (suck in water and the engine dies). Have someone pull you out in Neutral, remove your spark pluges, turn the engine over a couple of times to eject the water out of the cylinders, Allow you engine to dry, dry your spark plugs, replace them and the wires(in the correct order) and start your motor. It will run rough until it has completely burned off all of the water.

Note: If you try to pop the clutch while you are being towed out, you will end up with water in you oil pan, bent valves, and it is highly likely that you will need to rebuild or replace your engine. So take the time needed to remove the water the right way.

Suggested Supplies:
: Extra Oil (4-5 quarts)
: Extra Oil Filter
: A container to hold used oil
: A few tools (Spark Plug socket, oil filter wrench, etc.)
: A couple of Shop Towels
: Food
: Water
: Fishing Gear (Including Bait)
: Most importantly A great attitude and the ability to have a great time
