I always thought light novels weren't licensed and distributed here. I also thought that it would be nowhere found online except for maybe just the Japanese text. Well, I was wrong, so post up some rec's here.

There's a nice list on wikipedia of light novels, with the ones in bold having been licensed in the US for distribution.

I uploaded the long out-of-print "Welcome to the NHK" light novel's official translation by Tokyopop (They're shutting down business on May 31 of this year actually): http://www.megaupload...

Here are volumes 1-9 of the Haruhi Suzumiya light novels in english: http://www.mediafire....

Baka-Tsuki is probably the most organized fan translation effort, though it's sparsely updated and does not have too many complete translations. Well actually they recently (april 5) finished translating all four volumes of Fate/Zero, so there's that if you want to read it. They also have (only) the first volume of the OreImo LN translated but it reads with way too many line breaks >:|

Over at SeanVer's Anime Blog there are light novel summaries if you feel inclined to find out what happens in those without actually reading it.
