Announcing a new Meetup for Pittsburgh Kayakers (ka-"yack"-ers)!

What: Night paddle and dinner at Station Square

When: Monday, August 9,[masked]:30 PM

Where: riverview PArk
18th street, southside
Pittsburgh, PA 15203

This is one of my favorite night paddles where we paddle down the mon to the point, and then dock at station square where we will eat dinner at Hard rock, Joe's cafe outside deck or Grand Concourse if you have Enjoy Book buy one get one free dinner which is where we are planning to eat.. We usually Take about an hour for dinner and then board our boats and head upstream. It will be dark by then so lights are required on your boat. The view of the city at night time is spectacular from the water. This is on the river with other boats and there will be some waves, so this is not a trip for beginners. There are no rentals so you must have your own kayak.. It is about a 2 mile paddle down and 2 miles back. Always bring a change of clothes. Bring water for the paddle and also money for dock fee and for your dinner.Dress for the weather . It may get chilly on the water after the sun goes down and if there is a breeze. Space is limited so rsvp as soon as possible. Also note that it is very difficult getting onto the elevated dock, and you must not attempt alone..Once we get one person on the dock, it is easier for the others to get in and out. A PFD is required and a light. Since this is a weekday, we would like to paddle down and back at a decent pace so we are not getting home too late. Any Questions, just e-mail me.

Please ready to launch at 6:30. If it takes you a half hour to unload your boat, and park your car, ect. then pleaase come early.

If anyone has an extra kayak they could share, please let me know by e-mailing me. There are no rentals available.
