Announcing a new Meetup for Pittsburgh Kayakers (ka-"yack"-ers)!

What: Nature Watch Kayaking @ Moraine

When: Saturday, August 21,[masked]:30 AM

Where: Moraine State Park - Old Rt. 422 Boat Launch
300 Park Rd.
Prospect, PA 16052

This is a program put on by Moraine State Park, not a Meetup trip, but it's nice to go out with the park's naturalist. It's also a good opportunity for those of you that don't have your own kayaks. If you're interested, call them ASAP before the trip fills up. RSVP'ing with Meetup does not guarantee you a spot - you must call. Here's their event description:

"Experience the peace and tranquility that can be yours floating on Lake Arthur. This entry-level kayaking program is designed to meet the needs of those more interested in an easy peaceful experience rather than a long hard paddle. Meet the park naturalist at the Old 422 launch area off of old Route 422/Park Road to learn about and experience the peace and beauty that Moraine has to offer. Participants may bring their own kayak, or borrow one of Moraine?s kayaks. To reserve a kayak or to register, call the park office at[masked]-8811. Participants who use park kayaks must be at least 12 years of age. An adult must accompany those participants that are under the age of 18. Bring drinking water."
