Wednesday Night Paddle

This trip tends to have flat water, currents up to about 2MPH under some bridges, and can sometimes have brisk winds, though we usually pick a sheltered route on windy nights.

LOCATION & DESCRIPTION - This trip launches from George English Park (the park at the corner of Sunrise and Bayview Drive, across from the Galleria) and has about a dozen possible routes depending on wind and current. This trip can be as long (or short) as we feel like making it! Snacks/dinner afterwards sometimes, location TBD.

PARKING - FREE at the Tennis Center - don't park in the metered area, there are occasionally break-ins over there. Don't park in the spaces reserved for Tennis Center, though it's OK to pull in briefly to offload.

LAUNCH - The launch is from a flat rocky beach near the Tennis Center toward the north side of the park.

WEATHER - This trip needs to be free of lightning and thunder to begin; if we are caught out by lightning on the trip we will seek shelter and proceed when safe. Rain is OK - you're in a kayak, you expect to stay dry?

KAYAK RENTALS - Kayak rentals are not available for this trip.
