It’s official! Jacksonville will be hosting it’s first ever kayak race and paddle sports festival in the heart of our beautiful downtown river front on the mighty St. Johns River, May 5, 2012 to help benefit the North Florida Land Trust.
Come out and enjoy a world class kayak race followed by festivities, music, food, and fun for the whole family. We have manufactures like P&H, NDK, Venture, Feel Free,, Lendal, Hobie, Wilderness systems, Surf Tech, Werner, and many more!!
Expect to see some of your favorite outdoor shops, outfitters, and Non-profit organizations like the St. Johns Riverkeeper set up in booths around Jacksonville’s very own Friendship Fountain. We will have kayak fishing demonstrations, paddle clinics, local kayak tours, ACA kayak Instruction courses, and an opportunity to learn about the importance of protecting one of Jacksonville’s most precious natural resources, The St. Johns River.
The kayak race will start at 10am sharp, followed by festivities and fun. The award ceremony is sure to be one of the highlights of the day, with over $5,000 in cash and prizes, and the raffling off of an Epic Kayaks V8 Surf Ski kayak.
After the award ceremony, enjoy live music, food, and beer from one of Jacksonville’s best local breweries, and music from the Mobros and Saltwater Grass!
Jacksonville will also be hosting World Of Nations, and River Side Arts Market on the same day! Expect to see thousands of people enjoying our amazing water front!
