FLASH MEETUP- Micro Photography

A FLASH MEETUP is a last minute photo outing. I will share tips and techniques.

If you are the only one who attends will get my full attention.

I will be standing in front of

Century Theaters at 1069 B St, in Hayward

The Details:

  • Meet me at the location listed
  • Bring Filters (if you have them)
  • Bring a Shutter Release Cable or Wireless Trigger
  • Bring a Micro Lens or something you can focus in really close with.
  • Bring a Tripod
  • Warm clothes and good shoes

The Goal:

We are going to photographer textures, details, cracks, railings, walls, and whatever we can find using the[masked] rule. Everything we photograph will be tightly framed. So if you like shooting tight this is going to be the perfect Meetup you.

Here is my number:[masked] if you get lost.

Nine months ago, I did not know the difference between A and P on my camera, than I started working with Keith. Every time I go out with Keith to take pictures, my expectations are very high from Keith, I am like let's see what else he can teach me. And Keith every time has new things to offer. The more I learn from Keith more I need to learn from Keith. May be his deep knowledge of the subject, or unassuming way to life or just passion for teaching whatever it is, it works for me. Thanks Keith, always fun to hang out with you. Please keep doing what you are doing.

Had a lot of fun at this meetup shooting with Keith and fellow members and friends. Always a learning experience starting off with some initial direction from Keith, then going off to apply your learnings and then sharing and discussing with the group. It is interesting to see the images that others have captured and hearing the thought process that each photographer applies. Looking forward to the next session!

Trying to be a photographer for 12 years....I believe I learned more in 12 minutes that I heard Keith talk! Words light looking for light....how to present 3 pictures of a bicycle lock and turn them into art.....30-30-40 rule....how absorbing the ambiance is the first thing...how finding every possible angle of the subject is like a religious experience...an easy rule of thumb to remember....anyone can see what is obvious....our job as PHOTOGRAPHERS is to draw attention to hidden beauty that is EVERYWHERE.....Lot more....

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
