UPDATE:  2/23/12.  We'll be starting back up in a few weeks at a new location in Golden Gate Park.  

Kenpo Karate is the oldest style of Kenpo being taught in the United States and was created in 1949 by William K. S. Chow.  It utilizes about 60% hands and 40% feet.  What attracted me orginally to kenpo was that I found it to be very practical to use in self defense situations, and it was taught to me in a way that was easy for me to understand.

My goal is that every student, even those who attend only one class, walk away with some self defense that can be applied if ever necessary. Striking will be done in the air or on pads and during partner exercises there will be minimal or no contact depending on your preference. For students who wish to continue training, we can learn forms and more advanced techniques. Classes are free.  

Whether you have prior martial arts experience and want to get back, or if you've never thrown a punch, I hope to see you on Saturday mornings!
