Ch. 4 THE SHADOW MODULE! Please read pages 41 - 66

Integral Life Practice holds Shadow as an essential aspect to any well-rounded life practice for several reasons. First, the meditative practices in spirit module, the cognitive practices in the mind module, and physical practices in the body module do not address the entire person. The shadow module enables us to integrate the gifts of Western psychology into an ILP. The shadow module accounts for the psychological aspects of ourselves that are not in our conscious awareness but that do impact our life deeply. Another reason to include shadow, is that psychological energy is used in keeping these deeper aspects of ourselves outside of our awareness. When you can uncover some of this material and find helpful ways to work through it, energy is freed up that can then be directed towards healing, healthy living and personal evolution.
