Just thought some of you might want to car-pool for this; received this message from the head of the Ann Arbor Stitch & B...ch group:
FiberWorks Knitting & Weaving Quitting Business Sale
We have just recently crossed the six year mark in our run here supplying quality fibers and equipment to the Toledo area market. We now find ourselves at a difficult crossroad.
First, it is becoming increasingly evident that the Toledo market can barely support 2, let alone 4 different yarn stores.Second, Wayne's conducting schedule and demands at the Church are ever increasing, as is his desire to finally complete work on his doctorate.Third, Ric has been approached by the US Government with a very attractive job in contracting which includes both a retirement and benefits package.
With these factors in mind, and with very heavy hearts, we are writing to announce that FiberWorks will be closing its doors as a retail operation at the close of business on Saturday, August 2, 2008.
With this in mind, on Monday, July 7, we will begin our "Quitting Business Sale" All yarns, books, needles, roving, and notions will go on sale at 30% off beginning at 10:00 a.m. on that day. Loose sheet patterns and company pattern books will be 40% off. In addition, we will begin taking offers on the purchase of looms, wheels and store fixtures. These items will be sold to the highest offer. Please see Ric or Wayne exclusively about these items.
All sales will be final with no returns permitted, and we can only accept cash and credit cards as forms of payment.
To those of you with in-store credits and gift certificates, we will only honor those through the end of the business day on Saturday, July 19, so please come in early and utilize them. After that date, we are sorry, but we can no longer honor either.
For those of you with outstanding special orders, we will do our very best to ensure that they are fulfilled before we close our doors, but we cannot guarantee fulfillment as it will depend entirely on the availability of items with our distributors. No further special orders will be taken.
We appreciate all of you who have been such loyal and faithful patrons over the years. It has been a fun ride, but with the market here being saturated, the downturn in the economy, and the very fact that neither Ric or Wayne is getting any younger, but mainly Wayne, we are fasting approaching 'being of an age,' we need to seriously take stock of how we are spending our time and make sure that it is for the best for us in the long term.
Thank you again. Please know that our thoughts, prayers and gratitude is with all of you for the joy of having had you all as a part of our lives.
Happy Knitting Always!
