Korean-English Exchange in a "speed-dating"-style: conversational-level & above

Speakers of English and Korean unite!

Language exchange focused meetup for those who are conversational level or above in Korean and English at a quiet bar venue in a very central London location (about ten minutes walk from Oxford Street). For a map of the location, see the website of the bar linked in the venue details given here.

Participants at this meetup should have a level of Korean (and English) at (basic) conversational or above.

This will be an opportunity to informally study and practise Korean and/or English, and help others with their Korean and/or English in return. We are aiming this meetup at people who have a level of Korean and English that is from lower intermediate to native speaker - at least able to hold a basic conversation even if far from full fluency and still making lots of mistakes. This should allow us to have solid English and Korean practice.

We will again do a speed-dating style Meetup. People will speak to someone for 5 minutes and then will be asked to promptly change to speak to someone else, again for 5 minutes. This will continue for 30 minutes in English, then 30 minutes in Korean. You can talk about any topic at all, the only thing to remember is you should not to speak to the same person twice.

Programme is as follows.

7.00 pm - General conversation and study in either Korean or English

7:30 - English-language "speed-dating" - converse in English. We will change who we are speaking to every 5 minutes. You must try to only speak English for this time.

8:00 - Korean-language "speed-dating" - converse in Korean. We will change who we are speaking to every 5 minutes. You must try to only speak Korean for this time (even if you only know some basic phrases).

8:30 onwards - study and converse in English/Korean and whatever the mood is!

1 pound charged per person (this mainly covers the website subscription). We'd also be very grateful if attendees could buy at least one drink (soft/alcoholic) at the bar of the venue to ensure that we continue to be welcomed at this venue.

We may be near the main bar on the ground floor or down in the basement floor bar. We will keep a Meetup sign out.
