KW Coffee and Stuff Pages

KW Coffee and Stuff is a social group for people from Kitchener, Waterloo and surrounded area to meet new people, make friends, and increase social network. The majority of events are chats over coffee in and around the Kitchener Waterloo area. We also organize events to meet different types of interest.

To keep events fun and enjoyable for everyone please follow a few simple guidelines.

1) Honour Your RSVP. There are times when you will have to cancel on very short notice. It is going to happen and it is understandable if it happens once and a while. As a rule however if you RSVP yes to an event you are expected to show up. It is not only fair and considerate to the organizer you may also be cheating a fellow member out of a chance to attend an event if that event is full.

2) Let the organizer know if you are going to be late. The Organizer makes an effort to be there at the start time and so should you. There of course going to be events that you will not be able to make the start time and times when you have a bad day and are late. Letting the organizer know that you will be late is appreciated

3) Limit your use of Maybe. We all live busy lives these days and in some cases you may not know if you can make an event until the day of the event. In the vast majority of cases you know if you can come or not. Please be considerate of the organizer and fellow members by letting them know what your plans are.

4) Feedback is helpful. Please don't be shy. Post suggestions and Ideas on the message board. Give honest feedback regarding events. Email an organizer with an idea. It is your meet-up group, help it to thrive.

A note on participation limits:

I have received various inquires as to why there is a limit (usually twenty) on the number of participants that can attend events. In some cases it will be appropriate to allow a larger or an unlimited number of participants to an event. However, there are a couple of reasons why most events will have a limit of twenty and possibly less. One reason is that some events require reservations. I would like to book a table for an accurate number of participants in such a case. I also can not book a table for fifty. A large number of participants will require that I find an establishment that can reserve a large enough area. Some locations do not offer this or the areas are already booked or they require a deposit and so on. The other reason is I would like to have most of these events keep a certain amount of intimacy. A smaller group gives people a chance to get to know one and other on a more personal and detailed level.
