March meetup and formal presentations

*Ops! Devs!
This month we're meeting in Downtown Los Angeles at DreamHost's beautiful 50th story office.
First up is Chris, who'll be digging deeper into the nuts, bolts, and code of his TDD presentation from DevOps Day LA:
TDD For Ops
Christopher Webber, Demand Media
github (https://github.com/cwebberOps) - twitter (https://twitter.com/cwebber) - blog (http://cwebber.net)
This talk will walk through my journey to understanding the why and how of testing configuration management code with specific examples in Puppet. It will discuss things like, what to test and why writing tests isn't just a case of rewriting your manifests in spec.
We're also in for some storytelling with Kyle:
A Storage Story
Kyle Bader, DreamHost
github (https://github.com/mmgaggle) - twitter (http://twitter.com/mmgaggle)
Learn about how we used to store bits and bytes at DreamHost, how we do it now and how we're using technologies like Ceph, Chef and commodity hardware to power new platforms like DreamObjects and DreamCompute.
DreamHost is located in the Aon building about two blocks from the 7th and Metro Subway station or there's plenty of parking lots in the area. The lots on Grand just past 7th are some of the cheaper ones in the area. (A couple of blocks from the Aon.)
This month food and drink are provided by EdgeCast Networks and M-Go. Thanks to our sponsors for supporting us.
See you there!
Carlo
