On Tues 7/7 I'll be moving everyone to the wait list who still needs to be confirmed for this meetup.

These meetups are the most fun I have all year! Let's get some more innertubing in while the water's good! We'll drive up Friday after work, camp Friday and Saturday nights, and drive back Sunday afternoon. We'll be able to see and hear the river from our camping area. This will be exciting innertubing down mini-rapids. Everyone must know how to swim and wear a life jacket. Helmets recommended but not required (I wear one). This trip is all about having a good time and meeting new people so think of everyone as a new friend! On Saturday we'll visit the giant trees and eat lunch at McNally's hamburger stand (great burgers & milkshakes). Then for the afternoon some will do an easy 3 mile hike along the river and enjoy the jump rock at our camping area and others will take a drive to visit the hot springs, rope swing, and jump rock. Afterward we'll break to eat dinner in restaurants and then meet back at the camping area to play group games like Catchphrase, Ninja, and Cards Against Humanity as we roast marshmallows and make smores around the campfire!
On Sunday we'll have a safety talk and demonstration and then do some innertubing together for about two hours. Everyone will be responsible for their own safety. This will be an unguided tubing run. Everyone must wear a life jacket, know how to swim, and weigh at least 90 pounds. Max weight is 250 pounds.

Included: innertubing gear rental, customized map & itinerary,camp table, hand washing station, extra camp chairs, campfire wood, marshmallows, graham crackers, roasting sticks, chocolate, firewood, lighter fluid, fire permit, hatchet, safety shovel and water bucket (per the permit requirements).

----REFUNDS----

----CAMPING----
For this trip we'll be camping in a "dispersed" area, not in a regular campground with numbered sites. This means we'll have more space to ourselves and will have flexibility in where we put our tents. Our camping area will have portable restrooms and we'll have a hand washing station. Quiet time will be from midnight to 9:00 am.
----INNERTUBING----
Innertubing will be on Sunday. No sandals or bare feet will be permitted. You'll want to bring a second pair of shoes to get wet ($15 water shoes are great). Life jackets are provided. Wet suits are not required. Leave everything you don't want to get wet in your car.
----YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM----
You must be able to swim to participate in this meetup. This means you can swim the length of a pool in the freestyle, back, side, or breast stroke. Doggy paddling does not count. No exceptions. You'll be certifying on the liability release form which strokes you can swim.
----HIKE / HOT SPRINGS----
After lunch we'll split up into a hike group and a hot springs group. The hike group stay near the campsite and will do an easy 1.5 mile hike out to a pretty spot on the river and then hike back for a total of 3 miles and 200' elevation gain. The hot springs group will drive an hour to some unmarked hot springs south of Lake Isabella which have a 15 minute hike in and a 25 minute hike out. The hot spring is three gorgeous tubs touching the river and there is a rope swing and jump rock. Warning: there may be people there without bathing suits. No glass at the hot springs!
----FOOD----
Eat dinner on your way up Fri night. Bring food for breakfast Saturday and Sunday and have some snacks handy. For Saturday lunch we'll be eating at the burger stand and for Saturday dinner we'll be eating in restaurants.
----WHAT TO BRING----
Shoes you can get wet, one gallon of water per person per day, water bottle, snacks, food (see above), warm clothes for night time, flashlight, sunscreen, sun glasses, strap for your sunglasses so you don't lose them in the river, hat, one camp chair per person, and camping gear (sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent). Email me if you won't have a camp chair or need space in someone else's tent.
