Magento 2: Composer for Extensions Distribution

We are happy to announce the next LA Magento Meetup. This time we will have one of the core Magento developers talking about using the PHP dependency management tools (Composer) with the upcoming Magento 2.
Magento 1.x uses Magento Connect to package and distribute extensions. Magento 2 uses Composer, a de facto standard dependency manager for PHP, instead.
Integration with Composer changes approach to module versioning, dependencies declaration, and installation. It completely changes the way modules/themes/localizations are distributed in the Magento ecosystem.
We will have a formal Q&A with two of the core Magento 2 developers afterwards...

This talk will be presented by Sergii Shymko. Sergii is a developer with 11 years of hand-on programming experience of web-applications using LAMP stack and desktop application for Windows. Graduate of the National Technical University of Ukraine "KPI" with the Master's degree in software engineering. Certified Magento Developer Plus with 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with Magento, an eBay Inc. company. One of the founding members of the Magento 2 project alongside Yoav Kutner, Dima Soroka, and Anton Makarenko.
Piotr Kaminski, Sr Product Manager at Magento, will join Sergii during Q&A. Piotr has been with Magento since the early days and he's currently responsible for Magento 1 EE & CE; as well as Developer Experience in Magento 2.
