Lititz Fire & Ice Festival

Taking photos of ice is fun.

Meet us for a photowalk in Downtown Lititz at their annual Fire & Ice Festival!

Ice sculptures scattered around downtown and a chili cook off for charity are the main attractions and should provide plenty of photo opportunities.

Meetup Location

We'll gather at the Train Station at the front of Lititz Springs Park (Next to Wilbur Chocolate) before we set out on our walk. There's parking along Main Street and North Broad Street as well as in Lititz Springs Park itself. Brent is the point person for this event, so be sure to check in with him when you arrive.

Photowalk

We'll stroll the streets of Lititz taking in the quaint shops and beautiful ice sculptures. For the gastronomically brave among us you can try out the various Chili's available for sampling at the cook-off (there is a price for entry in to the cook-off area at the high school a short distance away. Check the Fire & Ice web page for more info on that: http://www.lititzlion...)

Rally at the Bull's Head Public House

Tired and cold from shooting all that ice? Well get yourself a "winter warmer" at our rallying point for the afternoon. After you're done shooting head on over to the Bull's Head Public House at 14 East Main Street adjacent to the General Sutter Inn on the main square for a beverage and some photo chit-chat. The Bull's Head is modeled after a traditional English Pub and offers many a fine beverage and some great food as well.

As long as it's not too cold, I'm game for this!

I will add this to the schedule if someone volunteers to be the point person for the photowalk. I can help with logistics because I live in Lititz and have been to the festival before, and I can help with setting up the event, giving you some tips on being the "leader" of the photowalk. It's real easy. So who wants to do it?

I guess I could do it. I thought these things were pretty informal. I have never done a "photowalk' before so I'm not sure exactly what a "leader would do.

Looks like this is picking up steam. I would appreciate some input from others on how they would like to see this go. I have never been part of an organized photowalk, therefore not sure what people's expectations are. Thanks to Brian for helping (pretty much all of it) with this.

Brent, to organize this is easy, just be sure the info is out there for the members, so they know where to meet. Then turn everyone loose to have good time. Nuttin' to it.

Sorry, it's a new "feature" on meetup.com. Every time I make a minute adjustment it logs it. Very useful for everyone, I agree. :)

Looks like we have a small scale invasion on Lititz tomorrow. Look forward to seeing all of you there.
I will try to be there around 9:30. I'll be the guy in the brown coat with a BMW ball cap.

I wonder if it's still on for this evening or if the carving will be delayed until early tomorrow morning, considering the weather.

I would like to go but won't be leaving work in time to make the 2 hour drive. Get some good shots. I would like to see the carving in action.
