2013 - 52 Week Photo Project!

Happy new year everyone!  Just a quick reminder about our 52 Week photo project which is kicking off next month!  More information after the image.

For the second year running, as a group members have the opportunity to participate in a 52 week of photo project in 2013!  Each week we'll have a different photo challenge topic for participants to tackle and submit one photograph to the corresponding Flickr group.  We're hoping to get as many group members (or non-group members for that matter) to participate so we have some great feedback and discussions about the photos being submitted to the group pool.

It's simple to join in on the fun.  If you don't already have a Flickr account, you can sign up for a free account (which is all you'll need for the project as a free account limits you to 200 photos, but you'll only need 52!)  Once you're logged on to Flickr navigate to the
group pool, join the group and then add your weekly photo to the group pool each week.  Easy!  Those who participated last year had a great time participation and commenting on other member's photos.

Here's what's coming up in February:

February's Themes:
  • 2/6/2013 Abstract
  • 2/13/2013 Red
  • 2/20/2013 Movies
  • 2/27/2013 City life

Here's the rules as dictated in the Flickr Group:

1. Only 1 photo per week per theme. Some members choose to insert a link to a second alternate shot in a comment under their post. Also, if you have an older photo that meets this theme and you would like to share, linking to it in comment is the preferred way of sharing.

2. Photos must be taken within one week prior to the week of the theme. Meaning, If a theme starts on Wednesday, you can take photos for that theme any time from a week prior to the day before a new theme starts. That's about a two-week window to shoot.

3. Photos for each theme can be posted on the Wednesday of the theme week. The group only allows submissions of up to three photos per week if you fall behind, so don't get TOO far behind on your uploads!

4. Please tag your photos, title them, and/or add the theme so others can identify which theme you are posting. Example: Week 2: Red

5. Please comment with something positive AND something constructive. We are trying to improve and constructive criticism helps. If you would prefer not to receive criticism, just comment on your own photo after uploading, "No criticism, please."

6. Have fun!

So get shooting and we hope to see as many of you in the project as possible!
