PLEASE NOTE - We will be closing the Meet Up site soon as most of our members come through Gumtree or local websites like the East Dulwich Forum. Please don't apply to join through this site - you can find details of our latest meetings and join up here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/
- look in the What's On section. The best thing to do is to sign up to the EDF and you can then search the site for our details and send us messages.
Share, learn, practise, improve and enjoy English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Swedish.
We're an informal, not-for-profit, international group of south Londoners and we organise small classes/conversation groups with usually about half a dozen people. The aim is to operate by swapping languages, as much as possible, so we can help each other learn at low cost.
So, you can offer to teach a language or offer conversation practice, and in exchange you can learn other languages for free. If you don't want to teach or offer conversation practice you can still join one of the groups for between £1 and £3 (this covers our costs). There is one group with a non-volunteer teacher and the fee for this is £5 for a 1.5 hour class.
If you're thinking of joining, please get in touch when you know that you have some time free and are going to be able to come. You will then receive an invitation. People are not added to our members' list until after they have come along to their first meeting.
We meet in a comfortable room above a gastro pub, the Magnolia, on Lordship Lane, East Dulwich, SE22 8HA. It's a low-crime area and the Magnolia is a safe and welcoming venue. Please note that SE22 is not on the tube, although there is an overground rail station 10 minutes away and it is on several bus routes - 185, 176, P13, 40, etc. It's best to work out how practical your journey would be before you join.
Current groups are: Wednesdays: Spanish and English classes and intercambio - Thurs: English, French and Italian. There is also a small group for Russian and we meet just for conversation swaps on some Sunday afternoons - please contact the Organiser for details. If you would like to join please email the Organiser for more information and an invitation.
Its content is only available to members.
To learn more, contact the organizer directly, or you can go ahead and join the group.
What members are saying
“ For the reasons above. ”
“ It's informal, and fun, and you can have a drink (or not) while you attempt to natter. The venue is pleasant - quite spacious so the groups don't have to sit too near each other. ...
