Driving:
For parking, there is a good amount of street parking in the neighborhood. For reference, I have provided a map of the area.
Metro:
The Metro line drops you off in Downtown Santa Monica. We are a quick Uber/Lyft ride or 7 min bike ride away from the stop. I believe one way on the metro is $1.75 and takes roughly 45 min from DTLA.
Biking:
We are about a 7 min bike from the Santa Monica Metro Station. Our bike rack is right outside our office, in a contained courtyard.

Presentation #1: React on Rails: Why, What, and How?
Presenter: Justin Gordon
Bio: Aloha! Inspired by the Ruby on Rails Community, Justin began blogging on RailsOnMaui (http://www.railsonmaui.com/) and working on open source (https://github.com/justin808). A philosophy of sharing, plus React/Webpack/Rails integration (http://www.railsonmaui.com/blog/2014/10/03/integrating-webpack-and-the-es6-transpiler-into-an-existing-rails-project/), developed into ShakaCode (http://www.shakacode.com/about)! A family, coding, and surfing in Maui create a healthy life balance.

Are you considering integrating React into the front-end stack for your Rails application? Would you like to pass values from your controller right into a React component, possibly with server rendering? You have two main choices in the Rails community. You can use popular react-rails gem which leverages the asset-pipeline. Or you can use the react_on_rails gem which uses webpack and standard JavaScript tooling for the integration. In this talk, we’ll cover the motivations and techniques behind react_on_rails, and why embracing the JavaScript open source standards is the best bet for your Rails project. Have a listen before the talk on Ruby on Rouges: 284 RR React on Rails with Justin Gordon and Rob Wise (https://devchat.tv/ruby-rogues/284-rr-react-on-rails-with-justin-gordon-and-rob-wise)
