Hey Charlotte Salsa Maniacs,
I hope your Halloween plans are coming together. In a separate email, I will let you know all that is happening this weekend on the Halloween Salsa scene. And we will have some upcoming meetups at Latorres, Charlotte's premier Latin Dance Club. It is now owned by 102.3 FM's great Latin Station, fully renovated and updated. Quite nice. In any case they have asked me to teach the Salsa Classes (Bachata and Merengue too) every Friday and Saturday at `10 pm.
If you already know how to do these dances, you can use the class as a warm up and to add some flavor to your shines. I teach the class according to who attends. If we have lots of seasoned dancers (salseras and salseros) then I turn it up a notch or two and we do lots of partner work, and lots of flavor. That is FLAVOR. Dips, body rolls, musicality, especially musicality.. that is what we do.
Most of all we have a good time, and I emphasize finding the joy in dance... dancing from the inside out.
In the dance, no one is more important than that person you are dancing with. Give them your undivided attention... Smile.
Well, I will be there tonight, then going from there to Piece of Havana (they are having their Halloween party tonight).
Be back there tomorrow (after attending a Halloween Milonga - Argentine Tango) all in costume (I am a Matador in full regalia); then on to World Dance Center, then a few parties . A bunch of us are traveling together briinging the party with us. Hope you will join us. Check the Halloween email for all the choices for dancing this weekend.
Hope to see you on the dance floor,
"the Cat in the Hat"
Welcome new members, we had seven join us today.
